When spring and summer come around each year, it reminds homeowners of the project they’ve always wanted to take on — building a pool! One of the main questions we get asked is : How long will it take to complete? Unfortunately, it’s difficult to answer because there are a number of different factors to consider.
Working with professionals who have years of experience dealing with every step of the process is the first step to ensuring your project goes smoothly. At GRN Pool & Landscape, we have had over 50 years of experience in the industry, and will walk you through each step of the process, from the moment of consultation, to permits, design, installation and completion.
After having the initial consultation, the application for permits and design begin. Before you can begin construction on your dream pool, you need to obtain a building permit from your city to ensure that your pool’s proposed design complies with your local Zoning and Building Bylaws
Depending on the city that you live in, permits can take as long as 9 months to be approved. The time required for the issuance of the permits can vary depending on the municipalities own permit processing time. We will be as transparent as possible about this process and timeline to keep you informed initially and along the way.
Any changes, deletions, or additions made along the way to the design and original contract can also affect the overall timeline.
There are also different types of pools, which involve different building materials and construction processes. Each type of pool including Vinyl Liner, Fibreglass, and shotcrete/Gunite can affect the time line of your project. Each project is completely customized to your specific backyard and dream design goals.
Once the permit process is complete, the actual working days to build a swimming pool can take an average of 90 days to complete after excavation. Excavation can take typically 1-2 full days, depending on the project and size.
After the pool installation is complete, we will want to begin the landscaping process to complete the overall look of your dream outdoor oasis. At GRN Pool & Landscape, we offer a full service experience to ensure that the entire project is complete and executed the way that our clients originally envisioned.
Building a custom pool has a number of different steps, and with the help of an experienced swimming pool and landscape contractor, you can ensure the project will run smoothly.
